Calla Wright
Book, Director, #3
Calla Wright has been homeschooled for most of her life, and has been putting on plays (with lots of help from her family and friends) since she was ten. This is her third (and probably favourite) original play. An Unnatural Turn, her first play, was performed for An Evening of One Acts with Celsius Youth Theatre (of which she is an Artistic Director). Word Problem, her second play, was read for Teens @ the Turn 2009, and was performed with NextFest 2010. Calla has won Best Performance by an Actress at the National Youth Shakespeare Festival in Toronto for her performance in a scene from Richard III. Most recently she was a part of the 2010/2011 Young Company, and played First Maggie in their production of The Mill on the Floss. You can see her next year in the 2011/2012 Young Company. Calla would like to thank her family, cast, crew, the Fringe, and everyone who contributed to this play, for turning her weird little ideas into something fantastic. Hope you enjoy the show!
Composer, #7
Daniel is thrilled to be part of this show, both as an actor and composer. In addition to composing, Daniel is a flutist and pianist, and has recently completed his Royal Conservatory Grade 8 in Flute, and Grade 10 in Piano. Daniel has composed scores for a number of theatre productions, notably a score for The Tempest, performed live. This is his first musical. Daniel recently directed A Midsummer Night's Dream for Celsius Youth Theatre, of which he is co-Artistic Director and co-Founder. You can catch him on stage this December as The Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz at Festival Place! Enjoy the show!
Conar Kennedy
Lyricist
Conar Kennedy is a poet, musician, and songwriter hailing from Edmonton Alberta, who only grudgingly acknowledges reality by getting up for work every morning. He lives on an acreage near Stony Plain with his parents, sisters, dog/best friend, and an undetermined number of cats.
He is delighted to have been a part of such a fantastic musical, and to have been able to refer to himself in the third person for a whole paragraph.

Though Claire Rollans is not a stranger to the Edmonton Fringe Festival, it would be fair to say that they are estranged friends, separated by the chaotic circumstances of life. Claire’s last appearance at the Edmonton Fringe Festival was back in 2005 when she appeared as one of the evil stepsisters in the Dramatic Learning production of Return of the Glass Slipper, a musical version of Cinderella. In the interim, Claire has appeared on stage frequently. At Victoria School of the Arts, Claire joined the casts of Annie, My Fair Lady, The American Clock, and Curtains. She also took part in the annual student-produced Playworks One-Act festival as both an assistant director and performer.
In 2008, Claire was thrilled to fill the role of Martha Cratchit in the Citadel Theatre’s annual sold-out production of A Christmas Carol. She also joined the Kokopelli Choir association in 2005 and has been singing with them ever since, sharing music across the country and all over the world.
Claire says she’s very excited to join the cast of ; the Musical. “Getting to work on a new musical is the most exciting thing a person can do in theatre. It’s absolutely breathtaking to see such different talents come together to make this one crazy, disturbing, absurd, and beautiful piece.”
